Legends of Tomorrow star Caity Lotz directed an impromptu, behind the scenes music video while she and her fellow cast were decked out in Disco themed finery. Lotz and the rest of the Legends of Tomorrow cast were dressed up in 1970s clothing as part of a mission that will be part of the next season 3 episode, “Here I Go Again“.
The episode synopsis does not describe precisely why the Legends need to go undercover in 70s’ dance wear. Instead, the “Here I Go Again” summary focuses on how Waverider passenger Zari Tomaz finds herself as the only member of the Legends unaffected by a time loop that always ends with their time-traversing ship blowing up. Little else is known at this time, save that the episode is intended as a tribute to the classic comedy Groundhog Day.

The music video, which is viewable at the link below, was posted to Caity Lotz’s Twitter account. The funny short is set to the classic Bee Gee’s song “Stayin’ Alive”, and sees Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Amaya Jiwe/Vixen), Nick Zano (Nate Heywood/Commander Steel) and Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom) dancing their way around the set of The Waverider.

Such an effort is not unusual for the multi-talented Caity Lotz, who is beloved on social media for her candid photos and behind the scenes videos of herself and her cast-mate’s antics between shoots. Though she is most famous today for her work on the Arrowverse and TV shows like Mad Men, Lotz got her start in show-business as a back-up dancer for Lady Gaga. A talented dancer and singer, who was part of the girl-group Soccx, Lotz is also a skilled martial artist with training in taekwondo, wushu, Krav Maga, and muay Thai. Lotz also did work as a stunt woman before breaking into acting and still performs most of her own stunts whenever possible. This diverse background and variety of training made Lotz the perfect choice for playing the Canary on Arrow.
Based on this video, it seems that Lotz could easily turn her talents towards directing as well as choreography. Then again, given her extensive resume and busy schedule, she may have enough on her plate already! In addition to her role on Legends of Tomorrow, Lotz is co-starring in the upcoming short film Year One. So it may be some time before we see Lotz directing an episode of Legends of Tomorrow, in addition to starring in it.
