Tom Holland is hoping his Spider-Man soon meets Letitia Wright’s Shuri. After a long-awaited deal between Sony and Marvel Studios happened, both studios wasted no time bringing the third incarnation of Spidey to the big screen. Holland joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War, and quickly found himself leading a solo film all his own. This reboot cemented Spider-Man as a new face for the universe with Spider-Man: Homecoming grossing over $850 million worldwide, and the mid-credit scene teasing his future as an Avenger.
Holland’s third appearance in the MCU will come in Avengers: Infinity War, and he’s also set for a return in Avengers 4 and the Untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel. With multiple appearances lined up, fans are anxious to see who he’ll be interacting with moving forward. One of the most popular suggestions of late has been Black Panther‘s biggest breakout, and Holland fully endorses it.

EW spoke to Holland about Avengers: Infinity War and asked him what Peter Parker’s thoughts would be on Wakanda. In answering the question, he not only believes his character would enjoy the visit, but also that he hopes to meet Shuri (Letitia Wright) sooner rather than later.
I think Peter would love it. There’s some great moments in the comics where Peter ends up there. And Letitia and I have become really good friends over the last year and a bit. It would be brilliant to have our characters meet up, it would be so funny. She’s brilliant in the movie, she’s actually my favorite part of Black Panther.
Shuri was many people’s favorite part of Black Panther, so it’s easy to see why Holland would think that way too. If there weren’t already plans for two of the MCU’s youngest heroes to meet, that could very well have changed recently. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige recently confirmed that we’ll see much more of Shuri in future movies. Even though we don’t know how long exactly Wright’s contract is, with Spider-Man and Wakanda becoming bigger aspects of the MCU, the chance of such a crossover is very high.
Not only would it be fun for real-life friends Holland and Wright to work together, but it’d also be a natural and surely fun relationship to see on screen. Both Peter and Shuri are young scientists, so they’d have plenty to talk about. While such a meeting could happen on a smaller level in Avengers 4, there’s certainly options for a bigger team-up. In fact, we’ve previously laid out how Shuri could become the new Iron Man in Homecoming 2. Even if that doesn’t happen, Shuri traveling abroad with Peter in the sequel and having a superhero friend his own age could make for a great way to see both characters grow in the years to come.
