CW President Mark Pedowitz hints that The Flash‘s Wally West aka Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) could appear on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The Legends team roster currently includes a master assassin, a scientist with a super suit, a man of steel (not to be confused with THE man of steel), two totem wielding warriors, and a thief with a gun that shoots fire – but no speedsters. They have also been joined, temporarily, by old friends Leonard “Leo” Snart/Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller) and John Constantine (Matt Ryan).
One of the things that helps keep Legends of Tomorrow so fresh and fun is their revolving cast of characters. The first half of season 3 saw the tragic exit of founding team member Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and the other half of Firestorm, Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh). Executive producer Marc Guggenheim has hinted that these characters will be replaced by someone who is already a part of the Arrowverse.

In an interview with Black Girl Nerds, Pedowitz hinted that the person to replace Firestorm could be Wally West. “You might see Wally West show up on Legends,” he teased before adding that he couldn’t answer if the move was permanent, “You’ll have to watch!”
Wally West has been a wonderful addition to The Flash, but the show hasn’t given Lonsdale enough to do. His character usually only has a chance to show off his skills when he’s filling in for the “real” Flash, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). Otherwise Wally remains largely sidelined. His relationship with his father Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and sister Iris (Candice Patton) has been important in shaping his character, but now that they are on good terms it’s time for Kid Flash to leave the nest and save the world on his own.
The Legends are a band of misfits who wouldn’t really fit in on any other team. What better place for Wally, who has been largely overshadowed and underappreciated on Team Flash? We already saw what such a team up might look like in the season 3 premiere of Legends of Tomorrow, which showed Wally working alongside Citizen Steel/Nate Heywood (Nick Zano). Lonsdale’s youthful energy and personality would fit in perfectly with the current dynamic of the Legends team. And while it would be sad to see Wally leave Team Flash and his family, it would be nice to see him finally have a chance to shine.
